Alice Stanne - Demons Within

Sorry I'm a bit tardy to the demon party, I got carried away with my submission for Demons Within...the Home. I made a small pop up book about the different demons that reside in people's homes, including Pedulefur, who steals individual socks from the drier; Tenentium, who takes up all the valuable space in the closet; and Mucilagosa, who is responsible for the pink scum ring around the tub.

Alice Stanne - What Are You Afraid Of?

Though I guess I'm technically an "adult" I still find myself afraid of the dark. It makes me jumpy, anxious, and I find myself walking a little more quickly than usual towards the nearest light.

I decided to double down on this challenge month, and have challenged myself to make not just an illustration a week, but a book a week (albeit probably pretty tiny books). The panels on this one measure 2.25 x 2.25 inches.

Alice Stanne - What Terrified You as a Child?

As a child I was really freaked out by closets, what could be inside them. Different closets had different fears of what could be inside. My bedroom closet had a monster, my grandmother's closet led into  a dark abyss, and maybe giant spiders behind the doors to the eaves. Though now it's mostly just a habit, I still do not sleep with a closet door even the slightest bit of open.

I got a little over ambitious this weekend, decided my idea would best come across in a book so you can open and close the closet doors.

Alice Stanne - Recurring Nightmare

I am usually a number one, first class sleeper. Out by 11, awake at 8. And I rarely dream, though I suppose I probably am and just forget. That being said, I dread more than anything sleepless nights or waking up at 4am and just tossing and turning. At this point I go through every thought in my brain, every twist and turn. Eventually I am stressed out and more exhausted. I dread it more than anything.
