Michael Manomivibul - Things that go bump!

Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, BLOODY MARY!

Of all the silly things kids told each other the Bloody Mary legend always unnerved me most. Mirrors are strange and eerie objects on the best of days, but Bloody Mary still makes me worry that the reflection I see won't be my own.

Bloody Mary Sketch, 5x7 inches, Sumi ink wash.

  1. Ah! I love/hate it! Bloody Mary scared me soooo much as a kid. We had a creepy basement bathroom in my gradeschool when this story was circulating and everytime I went to the bathroom alone I was sure she would be in the mirror just like this. Gorgeous drawing!

    1. Omg!
Me too! Even to this day I have a hard time walking into a dark room with a mirror. I really struggle to NOT look anywhere near the mirror. I HATE IT!
      Gah!

      (This drawing is fantastic!)

  2. Haha thanks guys, I wanted to do a piece about how when I wash my face I'm always scared that when I look up it won't be my reflection, but I realized some of that fear stems from too many spooky sleepovers.
